Kramer-Werke GmbH presented its all-wheel-steer telescopic wheel loader, the KL55.8T, for the first time at Agritechnica this week.

Kramer offers the KL55.8T with telescopic loader unit and Z-kinematics in the 9-12 tonnes performance range. This expands the full quality wheel loader to include the advantages of a telehandler with the even further increased load-over height, stacking height, dumping height and reach.

The new machine impresses with maximum stability, manoeuvrability and a constant payload. As with all models of the 8-series, all-wheel, crab and front wheel steering are available as standard. With a bucket tipping load of 5,500 kg and a stacking payload of 3,900 kg, the telescopic wheel loader is convincing, despite its low dead weight. The innovative cabin design, the technical highlights and the high quality workmanship make the loader a one of a kind. The telescopic wheel loader is driven by a 100 kW Deutz TCD 3.6 engine with exhaust emission level V.

Telescoping loader unit with Z-kinematics The KL55.8T is equipped with a telescopic loader unit (Z-kinematics), which gives the full fledged wheel loader the advantages of a telehandler, and allows for greater range and dumping height. Thanks to the high stacking, dumping and load-over height of over 5 metres, it is possible to load and unload high-sided trailers. An extremely sturdy hydraulic quickhitch facility is offered here for the harshest applications with a 61.5 mm wide locating pin as well as a 50 mm thick lock pin. The telescopic wheel loader has the support as per ISO 23727 as a standard, which is used most frequently worldwide in this performance category. The variety of attachments makes the telescopic wheel loader perfect for flexible application in agriculture. Whether for feeding, straw stacking or mucking out – this machine is versatile.

Simple operation – Innovative cabin design The new cabin and operating concept is functional, intuitive and convenient to operate. The rounded and rear-offset front window, the openly designed glass roof and the flat-shaped dashboard ensure an excellent 360° all-round visibility. The well thought-out cabin concept with excellent all-round visibility and ergonomically arranged operator’s controls forms the basis for fatigue-free and efficient working.

The 7” LCD display with built-in reversing camera is a central source of information for the operator and provides information about all important machine data. The associated jog dial control element (turn-push instrument) allows for an intuitive operation and setting of all machine parameters. The fully air conditioned cabin can easily be reached from both sides via large entry areas via three steps. Four grab handles (one on the left of the A-column, two at the step ascent and one on the door) allow for a safe entry and exit on both sides. An interior lighting with a door contact switch is also available.

Intelligent drive As with the wheel loader counterpart, the hydrostatic, wide-angle drive system ecospeedPRO with 370cm3 capacity for increased tractive force and driving dynamics is also used in this machine. The continuously variable hydrostatic high speed transmission with 45° turning angle of the hydraulic motor has been further developed by Kramer. In addition to the positive properties hydrostatic drives are known for – such as simple reversing, precision control, inching and servo – the wide conversion range of the 45° technology also allows continuity throughout the entire speed range from 0 to 40 km/h without shifting and thus without loss of thrust and tractive forces. In typical agricultural working situations, such as handling work in the Y-cycle, there is a high demand for constant thrust and tractive forces at low speeds. With the mentioned complete omission of shifting gears the ecospeedPRO transmission exactly meets these requirements. This in turn has very high driving comfort as a result, as neither tractive effort interruptions nor shift jerking occur. For the end user this offers a comfortable, steady quality of driving and a harmonious noise development.

The ecospeedPRO travel drive is equipped with intelligent Smart Driving engine rpm reduction as standard. At constant speed, this optimally adapts the engine speed to the driving requirements. When the maximum speed is reached, this results in reduced noise, lower fuel consumption and reduced load on the individual elements and the environment. With ecospeedPRO, the engine speed can be reduced to 1,550 rpm at maximum travel speed.

Powerful hydraulics With 150 l/min or 180 l/min (option), load-sensing work hydraulics, fast and powerful work cycles are a matter of course. The telescopic wheel loader is also equipped with the “Smart Handling” overload system. This system prevents the vehicle from tipping over in the longitudinal direction. The machine is thus always in a secure position, increasing the safety for the operator and employees in the vicinity. With two different function modes, including with bucket mode, which permits an automatic, load-dependent lowering of the loader unit, productivity is increased and handling work is also done in the shortest possible time.

Extensive standard equipment The standard equipment is already extensive and includes, beside the 7’’ LCD display, automatic climate control and automatic bucket reverse, reversing fan, four work lights and a Bluetooth radio with USB 2.0. The model furthermore complies with the new EC tractor directive.

The package of efficient load sensing work hydraulics, innovative ecospeedPRO drive and the time-tested and proven Deutz engine makes this new Kramer telescopic wheel loader KL55.8T a good choice for the sophisticated agriculturist. As usual with Kramer, the vehicle can be customised with numerous performance options to fit individual requirements.
